My time here in Iowa has been phenomenal. The GBO crew has made me feel welcomed from the time I walked through the door. The lodging, the food and especially the comradery among fellow bow hunters. The hunting I was able to take part of here in the Midwest is completely different in many ways compared to Louisiana. I was blessed with this opportunity to have a shot at this awesome buck and I landed a world class deer. Biggest buck with a bow. Never in a million years would I have thought through the networking while it the military would land me here.
I currently serve in Louisiana National Guard at the rank of Sergeant First Class with 15 years of service. Three deployments to the Middle East in that time have been often difficult not only for me but my family back home each time I have left. Being able to be recognized by a great organization and given the opportunity to come and hunt great deer in this state means the world to me and I am forever grateful.
This week I’ve learned and grown as a hunter and made friendships that I’m sure will last a lifetime. Thank you GBO for everything!!
I even shot my first rooster!!!
Sincerely,
SFC John Dale Loomis
