Dylan Carew was born and raised in the small town of Tiffin, lowa, along with two brothers and a sister. Growing up in a blue collar family who owned their own business, Dylan grew up hunting, fishing and wrestling. Dylan attended lowa City West High School where he was a 2-time state and 3-time high school national champion in wrestling. Dylan’s talent earned him a scholarship to the renowned University of Iowa to compete on a athletic scholarship. Dylan was a varsity letter winner along with being a member of Big Ten and NCAA championship teams before injuries ended his career.
Post college, Dylan started his own wrestling club, Big Game Wrestling Club, in hopes of giving back to the sport and creating one of the country’s best clubs. This journey took Dylan to Bozeman, Montana, where he coached and lived for four years building a large facility and one of the West’s best clubs.
After his time in Montana, Dylan returned to the lowa City area to join ownership in his family’s business, Carew Landscaping, and start a non-profit, Big Game Wrestling Club – lowa Division, once again. Since returning to the state of lowa, Dylan and his family have built a large following in their non-profit wrestling club as well as a state-of-the-art 12,000 sq. foot facility in North Liberty.
Along with the work that Dylan does with his family business and running the wrestling club, Dylan along with partnerships with Turkey Reapers and Chasing The Rut has been a part of taking countless kids and veterans hunting over the past few years. Dylan plans to continue efforts of helping the youth of lowa in sport and life through the opportunities provided in Big Game Wrestling Club and Giving Back Outdoors.
