Julie McCarty

Julie started hunting deer and turkey not that long ago. As a kid growing up in Iowa, she appreciated the hard work and patience her father put in to harvest wild turkey, hunt morel mushrooms and catch walleye, crappie and bluegill. But Julie’s interest was school, sports, music and church.

It wasn’t until her husband Jeremy introduced her to archery that she caught the bug for deer and turkey hunting. Julie has enjoyed the journey of learning about hunting, from firearms and equipment, to safety, ethics, wildlife management and hunting regulations. Her favorite deer hunting opportunity is shotgun season where she can spend time with friends and help youth.

Julie is thrilled to be part of an organization that humbly and honorably gives back to kids, the disabled community, veterans, first responders and others who wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity to be in the outdoors.
